I have been honored to serve the people of Chapel Hill on the Town Council, but I am not done yet! I need your support to continue the “good trouble” we have been getting into together for the last four years. You have been among my most dedicated supporters, and I asking again for your commitment - of time and funds - to give me the opportunity to keep fighting for the vibrant, equitable community we envision.
A Resilient Community
Over the last 18 months, we have faced one of the most difficult challenges in our history – COVID-19. The pandemic demonstrated the community’s capacity for resilience and caring, working together quickly and creatively to meet growing needs. I am so proud that our residents came together to respond effectively to COVID-19, resulting in low infection rates and a high proportion of folks vaccinated. Because of this response, we are now able to begin re-opening. We must continue this momentum to enable Chapel Hill to build back better than ever.
My Priorities
Along with guiding the COVID response, during my term on Council I have been a vocal advocate for increasing affordable and “missing middle” housing options, leading the Town’s efforts to re-imagine community safety, promoting local small businesses, and supporting comprehensive approaches to land use that center equity, connectivity, and climate mitigation and GHG emission reduction strategies. A member of the LGBTQ+ community, I have increased the visibility of issues impacting LGBTQ+ residents, including leading the passage of a Non-Discrimination Ordinance.
Stay tuned!
Moving forward, I will use this platform to share more about my vision for the next four years, information on campaign events and ways to get involved, and - as we get closer to election day - how, when, and where to cast your vote. Thank you for your support!
I'm running for re-election!
I cannot support you I am sorry. You represent a Council that has chosen developers over people . My neighborhood Colony Woods is being blighted by developers with your blessing. My grandkids will no longer be able to walk safely to school with the density you propose while you protect your own neighborhoods with HOA’s and golf courses… that is not equality for all….
