I voted for Amy Ryan's re-election, but I don't see much evidence that she has ensured that "mature trees and ample tree canopy are preserved as part of any development" the Council has approved. As I have watched the development proceeding along Ephesus Church Road, Legion Road, and other parts of Chapel Hill, mature trees are certainly disappearing and ample tree canopy has greatly diminished.
